i counted 44 too...though eyes are now seeing weird shapes....
I should write a program that does it for me next time
Just happened on thiss thread and am counting triangles.
I counted 52.
OOOPS.
I count 44 also. I was seeing double when I counted 52.
The dark green areas separate the medium green triangles from the yellow ones.
So there are only 16 actual triangles, 8 of them medium green and 8 of them yellow.
Why make it more complicated than it is?
You know, putting "counting all possible sizes" on top ruins the riddle.
i got 26.
i don't know how so many of you got 44.
After 26, you start to count the same ones over again.
I came up with 44 again, just as my eyesight started to go.
ANSWER?
Hmmm...
Where's the definitive answer???
I agree that there are at least 44.
There are 16 small triangles,
+ there are at least 16 the size of two small triangles,
+ there are at least 8 the size of four small triangles,
+ there are at least 4 the size of eight small triangles.
We don't have to "think outside the box," do we???
I would also venture to say 44 based on years of experience w/ counting triangles.
How Many Triangles
I can count 38 triangles
How many triangles
Sorry!! On second thoughts I make it 40
