RainSoft water filtration system - yay or nay?

Hi there!
So we signed up for this system because our well water is hard, the softener wasn't utilized by the previous owner appropriately. We get sediment build up in the toilets and aerators, there's visible lime build up on faucets. It's a mess. The price tag seems to fluctuate on what I've researched and I just want to be sure we're not being ripped off. The system is their EC4 cabinet edition with a computerized head, a sediment filter, UV light, and RO filter for the sink all for about $6000.
Some reviews are good, others are awful. If the system will be good and reliable then I'm happy, but I don't know anything about well water and water filtration systems so I just don't know if this is priced well or if we have better options available to us. Thanks!
