Got a dead outlet in a house. The dead end of the circuit. Showing open hot and neutral. House is some 35 yrs old. A remodel mess in every way. They added a second floor. No telling how many buried junction boxes or where. Could be a dedicated circuit or could be down line from a switch or outlet that I haven't found yet, that still works. According to my tester, the hot and neutral have a clean break, so there's potential arcing going on somewhere. What type tracer would help me locate the bad joint? Is there something other than a wand tester maybe that would run down the path of the ground?
