Two random variables X and Y have means 5 and 14, respectively. Given that X and Y have equal standard deviations, which of the following statements is true:
A. The two distributions are equally variable
B. There is not enough information to compare the spreads of the two distributions.
C. X is relatively more variable than Y
D. Y is relatively more variable than X
E. The variance of Y is greater than the variance of X
Please explain your answer. Thank you.
@Taicho,
