I don't think so. Now that the holy rollers have discovered the internet, they spend their spare time trolling around looking for victims to preach at and argue with.

Their Book of the Invisible Friend tells them that if they don't pester the **** out of normal people, they won't get to go to the Happy Place after they die.

So if you have no evidence, how do you expect to convince reasonable people to believe in your invisible friend?

Not that I haven't said it many times before but, I have no evidence for you. If God gave you life, any 'hard' evidence would have to be internal.

But the purpose of this thread (and many others on various sites) was to gather information on people's attitude/willingness to speculate on God, real or imagined.

Not my intention to 'use' you and others for false purposes, I truly am interested in the subject (yes, I do believe in God) and even though the research is about done, I'll talk about the subject with willing people (there aren't many) till the cows come home. One interesting thing to me is that atheists and conventional religion believers are about equally unwilling to speculate. Easy to see why believers might not but still thinking about the case of atheists. Many of them are ex believers (or at least ex interested parties) so it could be the 'ex smoker' thing.

Why?

Explained previously but the short version is:
True free will would not be possible with hard evidence.

@Frank Apisa,
OK. As of today, since that term "saved" has been dragged through the mire, and is an obvious clutch for those who don't believe to grasp and whale around... I will no longer use it. Please, allow me to rephrase that...

...I heard every single one within 24 hrs of finding life... Smile

Good thing your "guess" doesn't count in the bigger picture of it all. Wink

And it's not the first time, just remember that next time you accuse me of not having a sense of humour.

When I've a spare evening, there's nothing I like better than to wander over to a theatre and sit there listening to a group of sappy, urgent, vibrant young satirists, with a stupid great grin spread over my silly old face.

That's not sarcasm, it's an analogy.
