@BillRM,
I takes forever to load, I gave up half way through . If you don't need your computer for 2 hours start the down load . I needed to use mine so far in the download ,and It don't give you a second chance if you abort

@DYSLEXIC,
That's ridiculous. You're getting a free Operating System. Why not run it overnight when you aren't using the computer?

@Region Philbis,
Someone wake me when they make an operating system that's actually good enough the next one doesn't come along in 2 or so years. Smile

Of course, seeing as how I'm on win98se right now, maybe it's moot. Wink

@HesDeltanCaptain,

10 seems to have cleared up an on-going issue i'd been having with TeamViewer, my remote access software.

for that reason alone, the upgrade was worth it...

@Region Philbis,
I installed it last week on one of my home machines, tried all the bells and whistles and quickly got bored with it. I have to keep versions of almost all OS's on hand for business reasons, so I will leave it on this machine, but I probably won't use it much other than to just become comfortable with it so I can use it when necessary.

One thing that I noticed is that it is very "Mac-like" in its treatment of software installations (Apps) and the use of "Stores" for providing software and services. It is also very demanding about wanting to link me to my microsoft account (which I almost never use, so I don't even know the account without having to look it up).

@Butrflynet,
three months later and it's still ticking along nicely

given the age of the laptop and its general wonkiness, W10 has been a very good upgrade for my purposes

the speed alone is still making me happy

@ehBeth,
I love Windows 10 - the easiest OS ever! I'm still a computer novice compared to most people here, and things all too often go wrong - or did until I upgraded to Windows 10 but it all seems to be plain sailing now. Hurrah!

I hate Windows 10, i've lost almost all of my video games--except the one produced by Microsoft, of course. With the game program and saved games on the computer, and the game icon in the games folder, Windows continually refers to my 1503 game as "unknown program. When i tried to re-install it, it interfered with the "unknown program." I hate Windows 10.

@ehBeth,
Thanks many times. My accounting program won't work with W10. It's Sage's way of forcing us to upgrade. I just now turned off automatic updates.
