@bennattod,
Surely it cannot be a CLASSIC british film thriller otherwise it would be easy to search on Google. Is the radio programme British or American?

@sophocles,
It is a classic and it does appear in list of Thrillers using Google .

@bennattod,
#38- does this mean your film is a different one to the 1993 one?

@gumpy01,
Q38 There's got to be more than one film if the word first is used.

@bennattod,
38 - Using various clues recently provided, and obvious surname, I've searched through IMDB, TCM etc. websites for ages. Still nothing other than 1993 character??!!
I'm also suspicious re. no. 31. Surely not the obvious answer, but only one composer, as far as I can tell, to include 'Enigma Variations' in his repertoire?

@Ramires7,
Q31 your suspicions are correct.

@Ramires7,
I don't trust #31 either. But I've searched Grove's dictionary under every form of words I can think of and 'Enigma' still doesn't appear elsewhere. 'Variations', yes.... An enigma it certainly is.

@bennattod,
Thank you bennattod, found it now. But I'm puzzled as to why it didn't come up when I searched Grove's (to which our lovely enlightened local library gives us free online access). It's there, of course, but only, as fas as I can see, if you put the composer's name as well... Seven to go now.

@bennattod,
I had answer to Q31 a while back and the hint you have given there is less obscure than the hint for Q38, IMO.

@Ramires7,
The capital of Egypt has changed many times over the centuries. Sorry, I expect you know this, but just in case.

Just to let you all know,I have just listened to query line and Bill says that he is only looking for Cairo for Q38 and not any ancient capital.

Would appreciate a hint for 10, which no-one else seems to be having problems with. Still no further on with 22 or 46 despite clues, and if only the setter had inserted the word 'current' before capital of Egypt it would have saved me at least an hour and a half (and triumphant feeling that I'd got a clever answer!)

@gardengnome,
10. Born borath {anagram}. 46. Sophocles may well have touch upon it above. Anyone cracked 25 or 50 yet?

@gardengnome,
For Question 46 see my previous entry. I have given up on Question 25 as I hate those signpost questions! (Bound to be something to do with vowels and consonants, straight lines, or positions of letters in the alphabet, squared or cubed). I have given up on Question 38 as it seems to be Google proof! despite the clues. However I am annoyed at not being able to get Question 50 but I just cannot see the context.
