Hi Pitter -- Welcome to A2K!!

Thank you for the photos! I like the Webshots site, it runs smoothly.

The vista photos are breath-taking.

Your beach house is wonderful with it's bright colors.

Have you always lived in Columbia? I noticed one of the photos said 'eco adventure'? Is that an educational program?

Very Happy

Thanks P&L...
for the welcome. To answer, no I just moved here a short time ago. Actually I don't have a beach house I just photographed a few as I walked along the beach on the Pacific coast. Eco-Aventura is a group in Cali much like the local Sierra Club branches in the US in that they have regular outings to trails, rivers and mountains on weekends. They are rated one to five for difficulty. Occasionally they have real mountaineering (level 5) outings. As a newcomer and foreigner it's good to go with them since they have an ear to the ground as to where it's safe to go and where it's not. This country had 3000 kidnappings by the guerrilla and others this year.

Their e-mail is: [email protected]

Pitter, your photos are a treasure trove. They are such a help for someone who hasn't been there to visualize. I have been to mexico and guatemala, but years ago. I see how dense and complex the land is. I am so sorry for the country's troubles.

Ossobuco, thanks for your comments. Yes I think if the civil war in Colombia ever ends (unlikely though) the eco-tourism business in Costa Rica might just as well close up shop. It's amazing what the country has to offer from caribbean beaches to glacier covered mountains and more bird and orchid species than any other south american country save the enormous Brazil.

Husker me and my gal together are on my "Isla Providencia" page at www.virtualtourist.com then search member viajero99. There's a picture of us on the mountain peak. That site by the way is fun and informative for travelers.

Husker and littlek-I should have warned. That site has a long learning curve at least it does for me and often suffers glitches to boot for example in searching but when everthing is working it's fun and informative.

Where is MF?
