Can I use a solid state relay to operate a single phase pump motor? The motor is a 1 hp on 120 vac. The motor is not a capacitor start model. I think it will draw about 13 amps while running but it's the inrush current on the relay that concerns me.

Kizzy you also should worry about the effect of a reverse turnoff high-voltage kickback from its inductive effect

I looked at Crydom's sheet and come up with a CWD2425. Could you please verify if that's the correct one for my application? Thanks!
