@hawkeye10,
There's and A2K facebook crowd? I knew a lot of people had moved to facebook and befriended each other but is there an official A2K page?

A lot of people just want a friendly chat, not a debate, and certainly not a fight where insults are hurled. There isn't anything wrong with that.

I don't really facebook but I don't visit A2K much either anymore. People bringing up things they know about a person from past comments and posting them on threads where the item isn't relevant is what keeps me away from A2K most of the time now. It's ridiculous.

Whackeye is a complete weenie . . . he would get creamed in a debate with kindergarten kids. It is exactly true that people who have come to rely on Facebook do so because they can have a discussion without insults and without bullshit claims such as are so commonly thrown up around here . . . Whackeye.

@Setanta,
I've looked at the official A2K facebook page and there is nothing there. Is there some sort of A2K group? Do people use their real names or their A2K names?

@boomerang,
It's Facebook. So, real names? Yes. Unless they use a fake name to open their Facebook account. So there's that.

@boomerang,
No, people just talk. They know the real names, and the screen names. They bring up a topic and other people respond. As they have all "friended" one another, there's no problem finding the discussions.

Not everyone is an antisocial psychopath looking for violent debate and anarchy. I believe you literally are the only person in the galaxy to subscribe to the fictional oxymoronic cult-religion, Zen Socialism.

So? There is hardly any political debate and discussions going on at the a2k Facebook group. You do realize that not everything and everyone revolves around you and your uberbizarre superconservative political opinions, right? (BTW: That wasn't a yes or no question. It was clearly a rhetorical question)

I try to be completely non-Googleable. So far, so good! I have a facebook page but only use it for very specific things.

@boomerang,
I don't think there's any big A2K discussion group over at FB. There are people who are A2k members who are also FB members, and some of them are friends on FB. I am FB friends with some Abuzz/A2k people. I'm fairly sure I'm not in the A2k group on FB. I know there are some smallish groups that seem to consist primarily of former Abuzz posters that discuss topics of particular interest (cooking/gardening/writing ... that sort of thing)

Most people use their real names on FB, some use their A2k names, others use other names entirely. Most of them can be recognized by their posting style.

It's been entertaining to find real-life/A2k overlaps that I hadn't known about til discovering A2kers are mutual friends with real-life friends/acquaintances.

There's a lot more real life going on at FB. Not as much mmmmm fussing and feuding over hypothetical crap.

No, that can't be it. You're getting creamed in fair fights all the time here, and I don't see you in the so-called "A2K Facebook crowd".

Getting creamed doesn't count, so long as he doesn't know it.

As you know, i did not use my real name at FB, but my screen name should have been a give-away, and i think it was. I also used that picture of Cleo where she was laughing, so it was unlikely that anyone did not know who i was. I only responded to such discussions a couple of times. But then, i was interested in the discussions, which were not being trashed by hateful trolls, or phony-baloney know-it-alls like Whackeye. There was little reason for me to respond, so i just read.

@Ionus,
I'd written nothing about others. I don't mind what name someone uses here or there.
I do think that you made quite a bad joke, a slightly hidden libel of the worst kind.
