Pot lightproblems

I have four pot lights in my kitchen and I have one switch. The pots will individually go out one at a time and come on at different times. Sometimes, I turn the switch on and only one pot will come on. Another pot will suddenly 'switch on' five minutes later and maybe another 10 minutes after that. When I think one must be burned out...it switches on. They will randomly switch 'off' as well. What could be happening?

There may be a language or cultural barrier, but what are pot lights? I've never heard of this. Can you explain?

They are lights that are recessed, or set in to the ceiling...like a 'pot'.....rather that track lights or a light fixture.

It seems like there might be, from the description, a heat buildup problem that might be causing a continuity problem.

If it were me, I'd pull them out and either re-wire or closely examine the fixtures and their wiring.

Being familiar with a voltmeter as I am, I'd check to see where are the breaks in continuity.

Then if I couldn't spot the problem, I'd hire an electrician.

They are more commonly known as "recessed lighting" these days.
