Alright so this summer I get to redo my bedroom which hasn't been done since I was 6. I'm 15 now and the whole dolls and teddy bears things isnt exactly my favorite theme.
So here's the deal: I have green carpet which needs to stay , so the room has to coordinate with it. Which works because my favorite colors are pink and green. the walls as of now have a border and are a really light lilac color (almost white). I have two twin beds, a desk, a dresser, and a new white wire mesh storing system. The wood on the bed/desk/dresser is a light colored tan wood, not sure about the name of the color though. The closet takes up almost one whole wall and the doors are white. I also have some shelves mounted on one wall.
Basically what I'm looking for are some storage ideas and/or color palatte ideas, or just other fun things to have in my room. I have a lot of purses so maybe some type of rack for them? Here's what I have so far:
Bedding:
The Pink and white polka dot bedding with green trim. But that isnt exactly the same shade of green as my carpet so I dont know.
Yeah, not too much. All I know is I want it to be functional, organized, and to last till I go to college (3 years). Any Ideas would be appreciated. THANKS!
If you're going to be having guys over you should de-emphasize the pink. On second thought, you're only 15 so forget I just said that. How about some plants?
I like the bedding you chose, go with what you feel most comfortable with. The color you paint your walls is one of the most important things. Pick a color that goes with the carpet and bed.
OH!
My daughter is re-doing with Wake Up, Frankie, too!!
You can de-emphasize the dark green carpet by putting down some fuzzy (or not) pink throw rugs, or rugs that incorporate the colors in the bedding.
You could GRRL it up by painting the wooden furniture white, or another color that 'goes with' the bedding. (Or, you could leave it.)
You can also paint one wall--or more. (My daughter has two lavendar walls, and two turquoise. We painted her entertainment center to match--exterior wood lavendar, interior turquoise.)
To bring carpet color to the bedding--find a material (cheap at WalMart) that has a little of the dark green of the carpet, but also a couple of colors in the bedding and make pillows. Easy! You could add these, and some other funky, matching pillows on your bed.
Find some tulle, or silky material of the colors (with a little dark green)and affix them to the ceiling over you bed, letting it fall down to the corners of your bed--for an Arabian type decor.
You can get cheap bulletin boards and paint the frames in your colors, for friend's pictures...
I think a display of your pocketbooks is great!
A nice collection of seashells would be nice. Spray paint them orange and attach them by super glue to your windows.
It creates a soothing atmosphere.
It's a good thing.
Oh, sorry gustav. I thought at first that it was Montana giving that crappy advice, and I was going to kick her ass.
Hahaha!!!!!!! I thought I was losing it. I was in threads I knew I didn't respond too, and there I was, lol!
Since the carpet is dark and won't be changed, one thing you need to be sure of is to bring in light. And that means light window treatments, probably in a light pink or green, or perhaps in white. Do you like yellow? It's another option that might work for you.
i know exactly what to do

OK.......
I am currently redoing my own bedroom and the theme colors are pink and green with orange, ice blue, and yellow as my accent colors. I am getting some advice from my aunt who is an interior designer. I hate the color of the carpet in my room because it makes it look so dark and gloomy. However, I am not allowed to change the flooring so one of the ideas she suggested for me to do was to get a sisal rug and paint it ( i wanted to paint pink and green squares on it like a checkerboard). Maybe if you covered the flooring then you wouldnt feel like you had to be stuck with that green and you could go as light and bright as you wanted the green to be. I hope this helps and its not too late.
If you paint the walls pink, make sure it is a light pastel pink and not something putrid. A neighbor without much visual color skill tried to copy a muted green that we had used, and would up with something that looked like it was leftover from one of those Nickelodeon gross out shows.
i need help on decorating my room...
hi well i need some help on deciding what color i should paint my room..... well see i know im painting the walls a kind of light purple but me and my mom want to paint the celing to and im not sure what color would go good with a light purple. What color do you think goes good?
signed
Soo unsure!
Hmmm how light is light purple? Are we talking orchid or are we talking white with a touch of purple? If it's closer to medium purple, you might want to go with a lighter ceiling (it makes the room look roomier); if it's barely this side of white, then a white ceiling is going to look strange and like it doesn't match.
room help please!

Hey there everybody! I need some help! Im re painting my room and i decieded to pain my celing too. I already know that im painting my room a light purple... its called Marbled Violet (if you dont know what color that is look it up somewhere lol). But the thing that im not sure about is what color to paint the celing...like i mean i dont know what color would go good with my wall color. What do you all think?
