The number of a members posts automatically determines the member designation. The breakdown is as follows:
Newbie: 0 - 49
Enthusiast in Training: 50 - 99
Near Enthusiast: 100 - 249
Enthusiast: 250 - 999
Seasoned Member: 1000 - 4999
Veteran Member: 5000+
There are a few other titles too, which indicate a responsibility undertaken by certain volunteer staff members. Those designations are purely administrative, and have nothing to do with number of posts. Just to confuse things a little more, not all volunteers have designations other than that due to their post total.
If you click on "Memberlist" up at the top of the page, and prowl around a bit, you can find out all sorts of pretty useless things. Among them, the ten most prolific posters have over 150,000 posts. I'm not one of them. Able2Know, which has over 760,000 posts and something near 17,500 members at this time, is a a few weeks short of its second anniversary, August 19th. October 26, 2002 was the date the 50th member joined, November 4th of that year saw the 100th member come aboard. The 500th member to join did so on January 23rd, 2003, the 1000th joined on March 12th, the 5000th on the 7th of October, the 10,000th arrived on February 2cnd of this year, the 15, 000th on the 30th of May. Nothing special is planned for member 20,000, who should be along shortly. Tell all your freinds.

It was a good joke, Pifka. You had everybody sitting around waiting for their checks.

can someone translate this latin title "Ne te quaesiveris extra"
Hi, myancey, and welcome. No, I can't. Go to 'Forums' at the top of the page and pick the most likely looking one. You should find the option of starting a 'new topic'. That's your best. We're mostly being silly on this one.
Do you remember the post by Gus? If Dor grabbed the pebble it was time to leave, Grasshopper.
