rewiring my boat

I'm trying to rewire my boat and I just ordered 2 light bars for it. I'm going to wire them to 2 12v battery's (24v) and have a toggle switch. I unwired the old lights but totally forgot to remember how it was wired. There is a junction like thing that has 2 inline things with places to insert wires. How would I wire everything to the toggle switch with 2 wires leading to the battery's?
