I'm sick of soap scum.
Is there some form of body cleanser out there that won't cause soap scum build-up in the shower?
There are two requirements:
1) No strong scents/perfumes
2) Must not be anti-bacterial
Why don't you get yourself some mint leaves, rub them all over your body, and then hit the shower?
LOL
Well, are you sure mint isn't anti-bacterial?
(I have two mint plants in my garden this season, but I only planned on using them for tea).
I would use Zest myself; these requirements are my husband's.
I was wondering if Purpose soap might fit the bill. It is glycerine based. Will that generate soap-scum?
What's the problem with anti-bacterial stuff?
It promotes fungal infections.
I had this problem licked ages ago . . .
. . . i don't bathe.
Put some Boraxo in hot water. Mix it good. After it's cool enough to use, wash yourself with that, including hair. Rinse hair and (optional) your body with citric acid (comes in a powder, mix with water).
Setanta's back!!
LOL
Edgar, are you serious???
How did you come up with this method?
Do you have sensitive skin?
Has anyone tried castile soap?
When I discovered I had skin cancer, an alternative medicine practitioner, Hulda Clark, recommended in one of her books that people should bathe this way. I don't have the time to quote from the book just now, but will look it up if you truly wish me to.
Geezies
I think that if you would rather use some strange way of bathing than cleaning your tub once a week, you may need to visit a website promoting motivation or how to conquer laziness...this site promotes home improvement and do it yourself...not do nothing yourself...hee hee
I prefer to think of it as being conservative. I like to conserve my energy for other, more important things.
Anyway, I did some searching on my own and found that use of a synthetic detergent will clean you up and not leave any scum on either the tub or your skin. Sodium Laureth Sulfate is a good choice. It is the cleanser found in such products as Neutrogena Rainbath and Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash (available in a 'fragrance free' variety).
Edgar,
Thanks for the info. Sorry to hear about the skin cancer; that's a scary illness. I may look up Clark (I'm interested in alternative health care), but I think I need something stronger than Borax for my personal cleaning.
Thanks again.
