Panzade, thanks for the info.....how did you listen to it? Do you have it? was it online? Perhaps it is over the top.......I've only listenned to the track on the film......so it's in a different context, she does have  a great voice though, dontcha think?
I didn't remember it in the film(one of my faves). But hearing it again reminded me that the original by Roy Orbison isn't too shabby either.
Yes, she has a very evocative voice.
Oh, no not the 'whose done the best version of Crying thing'! It's a bone of contention betwixt Mr S and I as to who's version is best: I think Don Maclean (far more mournful, as befits the lyrics), he thinks Roy (overproduced).
What say you?
What about KD and Roy's?
Well, I give Roy points for having written it and all, but I must admit that Don did a pretty good version too. I haven't heard KD and Roy's(sounds like a circus act) version. But I do admire her version of "Johnny Get Angry".
"Oh I watch you there through the window And I stare at you, You wear nothing but you wear it so well..."
Dave Matthews "Crash Into Me"
Welcome...embarrassed to admit it's the only DMB song I can identify.
I don't quite know why this song today, but maybe it was the beautiful, sunny Melbourne afternoon that triggered something in my memory?
waterloo sunset
dirty old river, must you keep rolling,
flowing into the night.
people so busy, make me feel dizzy,
taxi lights shine so bright.
but i don't need no friends,
as long as i gaze on waterloo sunset,
i am in paradise.
every day i look at the world from my window,
the chilly-chilliest evening time,
waterloo sunset's fine.
terry meets julie, waterloo station, every friday night,
but i am so lazy, don't want to wander, i stay at home at night.
but i don't feel afraid,
as long as i gaze on waterloo sunset,
i am in paradise.
every day i look at the world from my window,
the chilly-chilliest evening time,
waterloo sunset's fine.
millions of people swarming like flies 'round
waterloo underground.
terry and julie cross over the river
where they feel safe and sound.
and they don't need no friends
as long as they gaze on waterloo sunset,
they are in paradise.
every day i look at the world from my window,
the chilly-chilliest evening time,
waterloo sunset's fine

You know, it was years before I discovered that "Terry & Julie" were meant to be Terrence Stamp & Julie Christy. That gave the song a whole new dimension.
msolga, I was just about to post you the Terry and Julie 'thing'
favourite Kinks: I met her in a bar down in old Soho, where they drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry cola, C.O.L.A. cola
When I was 13, the Kinks came out with "You Really Got Me" and I was gooone...picked up the guitar and learned the song...
Kinks are fab - I like the fact that Ray and Dave used to bash each other up (even on stage) proper sibling rivalry....so rock and roll, you'd never get the Osmonds beating the **** out of each other (IN PUBLIC). It's not natural! Ray does a one man show (anecdotes and music) now. I'm gonna go when it comes to Manchester.
By the way, I'm listening to Chaka Demus and Pliers (tease me) you familiar?
I've been lip syncing "Pieces of Me" all morning.
Panzade, now how did I know.........................
way down inside,
honey you need
im gonna give ya my love
We're off to see the Wizard - the wonderful Wizard of Oz and yada yada yada..... ever since they showed it on the TV a month ago - now & then it just rolls about in the empty room upstairs.
