when I start my truck and the Check gages light is on i thought it could be the motor, steering wheel, brake, clutch or transmission fluid is low, but the oil levels are full.

The light started flashing and has not stopped. anyone have a clue what this could be from?

Thank you.

The "Check Gauges" light could mean almost anything. It's telling you to check the gauges for a reason. What do all of the indicator gauges on your dash tell you? Is the oil pressure low? Charging system low? Anything abnormal? Are any other indicator lights on? What happens if you rev the engine a little?

Seriously, that light it telling you to look at the other gauges for a reason. What do the other gauges tell you?

It could be an electrical problem, especially on an older vehicle. Like an old hypochondriac the gauge light just THINKS there's something wrong!

"Check gages light"
Thanks for responding to my question.
Now , on my dashboard indicates that the oil pressure low and sometimes if i rev the engine the gages go crazy.
What could i do if the problem is electrical or the engine?

1st off - take you truck to a garage and have them check it out to see why the oil pressure is low. You said you checked the oil level so it's not that.

That thing (your truck) has a "T" connector where the oil pressure sending unit connects to the engine block and those have been known to get plugged up with crud and mess up your oil pressure readings. It may just need the "T" connector cleaned out but it could be something more serious (maybe the oil pump..).

As for the gauges are going crazy - that's a typical Chevy problem. Happens a LOT. The only answer I've ever gotten is to replace the entire instrument cluster. Sad
