What good does religion offer the world today?

@InfraBlue,
That was from many sources. Here's one.

@Leadfoot,
Well yes, if they're going to grow up into racist, judgemental, planet destroying fascists.

They all exhale CO2 so that's all of them..

@Leadfoot,
Oh yeah, from scientists.

You had said this, though, about scientists
Quote:
Scientists and politicians are not talking about the facts about what things actually need to change to avoid those consequences. All the talk of carbon tax, need for electric cars, etc. is BS when compared to the factors driving carbon emissions, loss of forests, etc.

Can you clarify your comments?

@Leadfoot,
They don't all rip up the Paris Accord.

Stop playing the ******* victim, it's pathetic.

You're welcome not to procreate, Lead. But for me the real question is: what world do we want our kids to live in? A global oven or a livable place?

Is there anybody here able to talk about ANY issue without making it personal?

I'm beginning to see why farmerman has decided to bail.

Of course I know scientists know the facts about population and the rise of undeveloped populations being the key factor on the issue of carbon emissions. But they know there is no grant money in talking about these facts. And anybody who does will be subjected to the inane insults setanta is so fond of spewing.

So they don't.

Hope that clarifies my comments.

@Leadfoot,
There's many factors, chief being the amount of crap pumped into the atmosphere during the industrial revolution, none of which was caused by developing nations.

The Paris Accord took all those factors into account when coming up with a fair and just settlement, but Trump would rather screw up the planet for future generations just so he can make4 a bit more money.

@Leadfoot,
Farmerman left A2K, or just this thread?

@Olivier5,
He said he was soon departing A2K for unstated reasons. It was on a different thread, one about classifying rocks.

Personally, I'll miss him if he goes. At least he had facts along with his vitriol.

I'm a solution focused guy izzy. Unless you have a time machine, that is an irrelevant factor.

@Leadfoot,
I missed that. He's still posting though.

Anyway, I totally agree that having less people on the planet would reduce climate change, if that's what you're saying. According to your Guardian article, having less Americans and Australians (who produce the most CO2) would seem particularly useful.

There are a number of organizations and charities working on reproduction control, even a UN body called UNFPA. They are trying to do something about it. And scientists are writing about it, as the Guardian article shows.

Not a single fact did farmerman produce in his "discussion" of 911. But then that's how Olivier was too.

Producing facts in such a discussion is a waste of time. If one is lucky the fact will simply be ignored. If unlucky, stating a fact will result in tirades of name-calling.

No thank you.

I see Izzy has been trolling this tread too with his vile and uninformed drivel aimed at inflating his ego.

It seems to get worse over time as more people get tried of his unwarranted attacks.

He claims to be a liberal but he attacks other liberals in some imaginary and vain power struggle to be the biggest bean on the hill.

Izzy, liberals help other liberals, they don't antagonize them...

@TheCobbler,
I've never claimed to be a ******* liberal. I'm a Socialist, always voted Labour, never voted Liberal, never will.

Now go to bed, you're talking out your arse again.

You'd be a lot happier if you weren't such a bloody control freak.
