@George,
As the setting is now, we are playing on points.

Category - Points
Runs (R) 2
Hits (H) 0.5
Home Runs (HR) 4
Runs Batted In (RBI) 2
Stolen Bases (SB) 2
Wins (W) 5
Saves (SV) 5
Earned Runs (ER) -0.5
Innings Pitched (IP) 1
Strikeouts (K) 2

Not like the other years.
I undertood the setting were going to change.

Thanks for pointing this out.
My understanding is that we would use the same settings as last season.
I will speak with the commish this evening.

@ossobuco,
batting avg on keeping ball in play?

BABIP

"Batting Average on Balls In Play (BABIP) measures how often a ball in play goes for a hit. A ball is “in play” when the plate appearance ends in something other than a strikeout, walk, hit batter, catcher’s interference, sacrifice bunt, or home run. In other words, the batter put the ball in play and it didn’t clear the outfield fence. Typically around 30% of all balls in play fall for hits, but there are several variables that can affect BABIP rates for individual players, such as defense, luck, and talent level. "

@Ragman,
But I never remember that. I've looked it up multiple times over the years, but it slip slides away.

@ossobuco,
Yeah, it's one of those esoteric and arcane terms. I question its usefulness at assessing quality Fantasy B-ball players...but what the heck.

I've asked Rhys to send you invitation.

Does anyone know of someone else who would be interested in joining so
that we don't have an odd number (9)?

I think the only alternative to getting another player would be to add a
dummy team. I would set it up to autopick for the draft. During the
season, I would adjust the lineups to who's playing that day and DL status.
There would be no picking up off waivers or trades for this team.

Of course, I'd rather get a tenth manager, but what do you think, fellow
managers?

@George,
I see nothing wrong with that as an alternative, though it seems like a lot of work. If you need assistance in any way should that come about pls let me know. I hope the potential 10th player comes along really soon, though.

@George,
Thanks; now I'm trying to remember who played last year that we're missing. I get the football and baseball enthusiasts mixed up.

@ossobuco,
Rags is now on board. That gives us the same cast of characters as last
season except for Jespah.

There is another option if we don't get a tenth manager, the do-nothing
option. In that option we each get a "bye week" every ninth week.

I may know a guy if you don't mind a new guy in the system.

I asked him and he said he would be in. He is familiar with the Yahoo system.
