Halogen Light

I have a Halogen Torchiere light with two light levels operated by a switch. It has worked well for years.

Of late it sometimes takes a few minutes from when I turn the switch until the light goes on. Other times it goes on immediately.

Is this a problem with the switch or with the light bulb?

@gollum,
If it were me, I'd find out by replacing the light bulb. If it doesn't make any difference then I'd work on the switch, replace the new bulb with the old bulb and keep the new one as a spare for when it is needed.

Switch. There's nothing in a halogen bulb that is capable of switching. The switch is shorting or has a problem with its contacts.
