LGBT Equality, Civil Rights and Social Concerns

I will be posting LGBT issues here concerning those who support the gay community and those who don't.

Please contribute to exposing homophobia, racism and bigotry here in the pages of this thread.

Surely gays are better off being married in loving monogamous relationships than preyed upon by the church with their fear mongering pedophile clergy.

The church seeks to disorient gays so they can victimize them in their own sick and disgusting plots they have been using for years.

There is no virtue in preventing marriage equality...

Let's make this world a gay friendly place where LGBT people feel welcome and proud of who they are. Where they are not thrown out into the streets as teens by parents who claim to love Jesus and/or any other teacher who professes to love others. Gays deserve a chance at respect and happiness too.

@TheCobbler,
You may want to specify which church. After all, consider that you don't want to be judged as a monolith. Maybe religious people and religions in general don't want to be, either.

Just sayin'.

@jespah,
I understand your gripe here Jespah, and, I could start cherry picking churches too but, the founding fathers did not define which church when they separated them from the state did they?

Neither will I...

ALL churches need to take a back seat to science, reason and fundamental human rights...

Hope that answers your question as succinctly as possible.

A state built upon the religion of a church (any and all churches) is tyranny not liberty. rr

Please have your churches spayed, neutered and sterilized from government if possible...

@TheCobbler,
To continue... can you please tell me a church that does not have some underlying animosity towards LGBT people or women and does not want to push/subject their "faith" upon others?

Sure some tolerate woman's rights and that of LGBT people. Some even have allowed blacks to attend services. (not to mention any names)

But they still adhere to their racist, polygamous and male chauvinist "holy books" and hold to the claim they are "the word of God". That every word is given by the breath of God and is blameless and pure.

This is the danger in allowing any fervent faith to rule over "science" and the ideals of reason, rationality, personal liberty and innate human equality. "No" religion that uses faith as its cornerstone can compare to the ideals of our commonwealth as a free thinking nation.

Either present your all powerful God "now" bodily before all the eyes of the world to evidentially see or keep your own personal book of miracles and fables to yourself...

@TheCobbler,
I take this as a rant thread, which is surely useful, but not interesting to me.

I agree with most of your views already.

I'm more interested in people's lives, and the difficulties.

@TheCobbler,
I would like to clarify this comment, I am NOT implying that Jespah is an internet troll.

Jespah has added much insight to many of my threads over the years and the surely welcomed question on "which church" I was referring to in my title monologue I tried to answer at the best of my ability...

I hope Jespah, you will say around and contribute more to this discussion

I was referring only to the down voters of this thread.

I am sure there are some nice religious people out there, as for churches... I have yet to find one that I can associate myself with that does not ALSO tie itself to a "holy book" that I abhor...

A book with hate does not a holy book make... rr

@maxdancona,
I don't really find young people, gay or straight, being sexually victimized, threatened and profited from by the, err church, ironic.

Sick, disgusting and depraved, yea, ironic? No...

@TheCobbler,
Max has just gone through a messy divorce and hates all women as a result. Most of his posts are him bleating about how hard it is being a man. Don't waste your time with such a pathetic creature.

And don't believe a word he says. He lies constantly, and makes up "facts and figures."
