A short while ago I came across a painting I loved. Unfortunately, I never found out its name or artist and I am now trying to find it. It was modern/abstract, and here's what I can remember from it.
4-6 uneven vertical stripes
Spaces between them
Colours fairly muted
White background
Someone has suggested Mark Rothko, but I'm fairly sure he's not the artist. Any help much appreciated.
Thanks!
@fresco,
Thanks, but it was none of these. There were far too many stripes in each one, the colours were too bright, they were too regular and there was no space between the stripes.
Piet Mondrian, maybe?
Everyone thinks of his paintings of being in primary and secondary colors but he did some muted colors too.

@Artemis236,
Franz Kline?
Robert Motherwell?
Oh! Barnett Newman! He's similar to Rothko.
Jack Bush?
@boomerang,
Thanks, but unfortunately, I don't think it was any of them. Franz Kline or Jack Bush were probably the closest, but as I say, I'm almost sure it wasn't one of them.
@Artemis236,
Just to add, the width of the stripes were fairly regular, and it was nothing like one of Mark Rothko's colour fields.
