Hello, I have just bought a murano red and silver fish. I believe the silver colour is mercury. Is this safe to have in a family home? There are a few flecks of discounting. Many thanks

lots of murano is colored with uranium salts so I wouldn't worry , just keep people from breaking it.
Have you seen any colors when you shine a black light at the glassware?

This is a Sumerso Plum style in a "Vaseline glass" recipe (under ultraviolet light, LONG WAVE). This hs the uranium salts. They would also use this recipe to make the little paper eights and marbles. I hve some in a small collection of
fluorescent marbles I use for teaching glass bead analyses.
