My name is Adilah from National University of Malaysia. I'm in the process of completing my postgraduate study in English language studies. My thesis is about "Attitudes towards Online Reading". My objectives are; 1) To examine the attitude towards online reading, 2) To identify the factors which affect the online reading attitude. I am adapting a survey as my research instrument. In the survey, there are 71 items which are divided into 5 main factors: 1) cognitive and behavioral engagement, 2) self-regulatory behavior, 3) anxiety, 4) value/interest and 5) efficacy for online reading. Those 5 factors contribute to general attitude. There are imbalance number of items in each factor.
4 of the factors the students need to answer by choosing "strongly agree","agree","disagree" or "strongly disagree". Another one factor the students need to answer using "never","sometimes", "often" or "all the time" So from those 5 main factors how do I find out the general attitude among students? And how do I determine which factors have strong/weak contribution to the attitude? What type of statistical analysis should I use?Is it ANOVA, regression, or multiple factors analysis? And how do analyse the findings?Thank you.
