Harriet leaves the island and then represents herself to be Anita.
So what happens to the real Anita?
Salander and her accomplice Blomkvist find her in London, and learn that Harriet is living in Australia with an assumed identity. Blomkvist goes to Australia and meets her to get her part of the story.
EDIT: That's how it works in the novel. I've not seen the film.
