I baked four potatoes late wednesday evening, meaning to stick three of em in the fridge for later consumption. Well, I forgot to stick em in the fridge... they've just been sitting in the oven still wrapped in their foil. (The oven was not left on, just for clarification.)
Are they safe to heat and eat now?
Thanks!
(Oh, yeah, it's 2:00 am here now... so, it's been maybe 28 hours)
Assuming there's nothing else on the potatoes that might spoil, it's perfectly safe to eat them regardless of time.
it does depend a bit what is general condition of your stomach

but somebody can have mild stomach problems - you will definitely not die if that's what worries you
I think it most certainly will be fine. Food isn't always so easy to destroy. Please let us know what it taste like compared with "fresh" baked potatoes. You might have made an innovation!
In Sweden some 30 years ago when deep freezers became common, a new type of steak was invented ("the forgotten steak)". You take a deep frozen steak, place in the the owen for 10-12 hours (!) in a temperature around 70 Celsius grades. I do it before I go to bed an in the morning its ready. The low temperature preserves the juice in the meat. Lovely! Keep it in the fridge after its ready. You eat it cold in thin slices, preferably with a salad, potato salad (warm/cold), potato gratin (warm) or another of your favorites. I have tried steaks from deer, cow, elk, lamb; all with god results. Excellent for a buffet.
You could also cut them up and make home fries.
