Thought this was interesting. Studio version vs live - 49 years apart

Not sure why but I was thinking about Australian songs about being overseas and missing home (to greater or less extent).

Here's four I thought of straight away:

London Still - The Waifs

One Perfect Day - Little Heroes

Tallulah - Allo Darlin

Every City - Paul Kelly

Hey hinge, I’m almost certain to get suspended and possibly banned permanently. Keep this one going huh? Cheers

How about a song to someone who's travelling and missed...

This came up on random - Ross Ryan's 'Blue Chevrolet Ballerina' which I always preferred to his huge hit 'I Am Pegasus' (see below). What I hadn't realised before was that Ross was born in Fort Leavenworth Kansas, but migrated to Australia at age 9 with his family to a sheep farm near Albany, Western Australia.

I imagine both these songs are unknown outside Australia, and even then only if you are above a certain age.
His second biggest hit no. 38 on the charts in 1975

His big hit was reached no.2 in 1973

I've got a lot of love for Angus and Julia Stone - I'd probably put this in their top 10 (but not at the very top)

Not strictly what the thread is about, but even growing up in Rugby League heartland, you’re interest couldn’t be a least a little piqued by the old VFL ad that’s probably the best sports ad that’s ever been made about any sport anywhere in the world, mainly because of Mike Brady’s song.
