Two Rugby League ads were decent - but they featured Tina Turner so not appropriate for this thread.
My favourite RL ad was the old one from the 70's featuring "The Greatest Game of All". I've searched high and low, and it can no longer be found. I actually sent an email to Ray Hadley once, who replied "It's no longer available commercially", whatever that statement means. Easily the best Rugby League song.

Can you believe that 15 seconds after my previous post - I found the song. Unfortunately not the original ad that went with it, that gave it context.

Is the fan version better? With a selection of more modern scenes.

Not born there, but moved to Oz when she was five. The late, great, ONJ.

My favourite Frente song (and of course, one of their earliest)
John Farnham should probably have his own thread. Particularly given that he's unlikely to ever sing again after having part of his jaw removed to excise a cancerous tumor. I was lucky enough to grow up in the 80's and 90's when Australian pub/club music was at it's peak. Everybody listened to the bands instead of watching shows through their phones. I saw Farnsy 5 times over 22 years starting in the late 80's. He didn't drop a note, and there's no singer on earth who was able cross genres like this guy. The 2 most extreme examples here.
Anthony Warlow (the bald guy here) is a classically trained opera baritone. Opera royalty in Australia, the star of the local production of "The Phantom of the Opera", as well as performing in musical theater in London and on Broadway.
John Farnham is an adult contemporary performer. To this day, his 1987 album "Whispering Jack" is still the biggest selling album by an Australian artist in the country.
This was never performed. He realised it probably wouldn't fit his audience which could run the gamut from 8 to 80 (I've seen this with my own eyes). The only reason it exists is because one of his sound techs hit record one day. John Farnham's warmup/sound check - audio only.

I love the way Australian musicians mix it up. We have club music but it just doesn't compare to the richness of pub music. We in the US polish everything up to overly "pure" and rigid and narrowly defined.
