Doesn’t get any more Aussie than this. The Angels were mainstays of the pub/club scene for years. I lost count of the number of times I saw them.

@Wilso,
I knew the rocket in the playground at Shellharbour intimately growing up. Typical burger/toilet stop driving from Liverpool to Shoalhaven Heads back in the day.

@hingehead,
PS I'm happy to do what I consider the best of post 1990 Oz music if you want.

Although this is one of my fave 1980s tracks

The rocket was in Kiama

Off topic - but this is what you remember

It was in Hindmarsh Park Kiama. In those days, coming from Sydney down the coast, you would have been on the Princes Hwy (still would, but the road is better). You would have bypassed Shellharbour completely, and Kiama would have been your coastal stop. We used to go here almost every weekend. Mum would take us to the park, while my father, grandfather and great-grandfather would go fora beer or 10 at the Group 7 Leagues Club across the road.

@Wilso,
You're right of course - I've made that mistake before. But we did occasionally go to Shellharbour - not really sure why. Dad was born in Berry - all the town signs on that route are burnt and blurred into lizard memory - Appin, Dapto, Albion Park, Bombo, Minimurra, Geroa and Gerringong.

@hingehead,
New roads now. You bypass Minnamurra, Bombo, and Kiama if you want to

From ballad back to rock. Barnesy isn’t the greatest vocalists, and the video isn’t the best, but this song always gets my foot tapping, and his live shows go off.

@Wilso,
I've driven it once since I moved up here. Flew to Sydney, drove to Canberra, then onto Bateman's Bay (family chores) then back to Sydney on the coast 'road' - pretty much freeway from Nowra now. Don't get me started on former country towns like Picton/Camden etc.

Lock It - Falling Joys. A beautiful bit of jangle pop from 1990. Memory triggerer for me, and a wee shiver up the spine too.
