I have a '00 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3 with 105,000 miles on it. It doesn't want to start when the engine is warm, but has been sitting for a few minutes.
When I turn the key the engine will turn over but will not fire. After it does that I try to restart it and it will eventually fire up, but it will not idle.
It will idle after I play with the gas and starts running fine. It runs fine with no hint of problem.
Any ideas?
It might be clogged fuel injectors or the Oxygen sensor or the air filter or any one of a number of things. Once a Chevy vehicle hits 100,000 miles they are designed to self-destruct.
You mean like the tow truck at work? Early-1987 GMC R-35, TBI 454/auto (first EFI 454 in the area), original tranny, engine replaced at 280,000 with no oil pressure (still ran fine, BTW). Currently still going strong at 395,000 miles, in service since December, 1986.
