I had a Mexican-themed party, all the guests were assembled enjoying
a few drinks...All that remained for me to do was to throw the tacos in the oven and toss the salad. I followed the directions.....5 mins in the oven at a certain temperature, everything else was in place.....salsa, cream, grated cheese, salad, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, green peppers.
Maybe I got distracted with conversation for a few minutes too long,
or maybe the recipe wasn't right. When I opened the oven, the top of each of the crispy tacos was burnt to a crisp.....and smoke was rising....
With a couple of friends, this could have been a laugh, but this
was a party. Instead of stuffing a crispy taco, my guests had to scoop the ingredients on top of only one half....
Have you ever had a dinner disaster?
YESSSSSSSSS!
Social or culinary?
No, but then again, I get paid for it.

It was probably just a matter of timing, and perhaps an oven that was too hot.
Oh yeah, I've had dinner disasters, I just have blacked them all out of my memory.
Do tell ....both social and culinary are
of interest to me!
Back in the days, I introduced an enticing young lady to her first oyster. Just as she prepared to leave, we kissed passionately, and I asked her to spend the night. Despite the sweat on her brow, she was too freaked out to stay. I would call that a social disaster.
