Engerlund swings like a pendulum do, in the words of the poet- plenty of rosy-red cheeks today. Mimosas, don't they sell those at the Indian takeaway?

Take away something that is not yours is not fair. Take some flowers you bought to your loved one.

mrs. h is not much interested in flowers i might buy her, but she loves the flowers we grow together in the garden ... it'll be a while, still plenty of snow and forecast of minus 20 c for thursday morning. well, we'll just hang in there; spring will come eventually; tulips should be up by early may (we hope !). hbg

mmm ' to resume the game

One does not like to carp, but there are people who just seem unable to play a normal word game. Anyone can have a conversation for g´s sake, but this takes thought.

Thought you knew Clary, not everyone can have a conversation, especially if they're taciturn like us Scots. Cut hbg some slack though, because he's one of our star contributors, and a vereran.

(the rules of this thread: start with the last word in the last post, and write around two sentences. The next poster will then pick up from your last word...and so on.)

Vereran or veteran cars are a hobby I can't afford. I like to look at them though, when someone else is paying for the upkeep.

Upkeep my own home is a time consuming task. I'm considering to pay for it in order to liberate time to live and enjoy.

Me, me, me; that's all we hear about these days. No man is an island, sufficient unto himself alone, or whatever the hell it was that that guy wrote. So verily I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

these are the 'run up to my wedding' days, last days of me being 'Spinster of the Parish'.

Still undecided between two outfits...think it's going to have to be the red velvet.

Velvet in flaming red, that sounds about right to me.

Do the other A2K'ers know that a wedding is in the offing? This may be a first! (tho probably it isn't) and so and if not, someone should start a WEDDING CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES THREAD.
Which wishes I heartily extend. xxx

Fun we shall have celebrating this wedding! We must keep the bride from becoming too stressed before the big day.

Work, the curse of the drinking classes. Are drinking classes available at your local adult education centre, I wonder; I'd sign up like a flash if they were.

Were you to enrol, I think you would do extremely well, gold stars and A++. However, the chances are you would only be offered basket weaving and conversational Bengali.

The Bengali marriage ceremony like all other marriages are dependant upon numerous symbols that signifies good and evil, purity and sanctity, sexuality. For instance, the colour black is not used as it indicates triste and hopelessness.

Hopelessness, terror, panic- who can say what is depicted in Monch's painting "The Scream"? Not me, no way Jose, and I don't understand either why they keep pinching his works. It doesn't seem to me to be an activity typically Norwegian.

Norwegian minds are dark and unfathomable. Munch knew that and painted accordingly, but I prefer French impressionists.
