15% times 2 of people would prefer to kiss Wayne Rooney than anyone else in the world. How strange!

Strange indeed. I don't even know who he is.

Is Australia so cut off from the Euro 2004 football tournament? My nephew there complains that the coverage on the media is lamentable.

Lamentable? What's lamentable is that people have rioted about such trivial things...

Things are a nuisance, aren't they? I'm trying rather unsuccessfully to minimize the number of my possessions.

Possessions are capitalism's way of tying you to the ground. Yet, some typify memories; and memories are so hard to throw away.

Glasgow is a place I have driven round and through but never stopped. Apparently it's an interesting city.

City views, from Park Circus area, of the University and Kelvingrove are very fine. There are many rewards for the visitor, the Mackintosh connections and the Burrell Collection of course.

Course of an old journey took me to Glasgow. It was a very fine city; inspiring, even.

Even though it is often maligned, parts of the city are handsome to behold. It is laid out on a much grander scale than many British cities, and contains many fine buildings.

Buildings, I like buildings and building in general, and wish I had paid more attention to my interest in them as a child. Maybe my route to landscape architecture would have been less winding.

Winding babies, that's a chore few enjoy. Usually the baby in question is screaming blue murder, and you have to put it close to your poor ear and over your shoulder, pat it on the back, say ichy kichy coo who's a good boy/ girl then, and pretend to be very pleased when it burps in your ear.

Ear, eye, nose - all at risk when handling babies, who can stick their fingers everywhere. All the same, someday I'd like to be a grandma.

Grandma Clary? I hope that this would not mean that you would become all settled; I could never wish to be a mother, let alone a grandmother too.

Too settled? Never - a peripatetic grandma who travels extensively in between visits!

Palate cleansers, don't they call them sorbets? I have never prepared a sorbet, or sorbetto, myself. Have you?

Sorbet can be matched with a good granita. A citrus granita is a summer passion of mine.
