Evident it is that Bill Gates has gotten the message. He has left Microsoft and will put all of his efforts into philanthropy.

Philanthropy takes on many forms. It is caring and serving, and is our individual response to human needs.

Needs are quite different than wants, although many people do not seem to know the difference. Often, people simply want things, and mostly things they do not need, and can live without.

Without love, it seems, we are useless. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Cymbals, St. Paul seems to have considered them lifeless instruments and carnal weapons, like instuments of warfare, and, their sounds not appropriate as part of worship. But, instrumental music has great spiritual force, and can anyone deny that listening to Mozart might reveal the voice of God?

God has nothing to do with beautiful music. Your ears have.

Have a cup of herbal tea if you really want to relax. Most people consume too much caffeine.

Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant, having the effect of temporarily warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness. Beverages containing caffeine, such as coffee, tea, soft drinks and energy drinks enjoy great popularity.

Popularity of consumer items, or foods, or mass culture, does not indicate good taste, or quality, or common sense, or intelligence, or utility. People eat popular junk food, drive popular gas guzzling cars, purchase popular useless novelities, and watch popular movies and tv shows that are mindless drivel.

Drivel is open to several interpretations. It could refer to saliva flowing from the mouth, or to talk stupidly and carelessly.

Carelessly is how many people handle their money. They impulsively spend more than they have and run up large credit card debt.

Debt is inevitable with the present government's attitude to students. My youngest son has a debt of more than twenty thousand pounds.

Pounds are easier to shed after lap-band surgery. My nephew has lost about 110 pounds since having the procedure done last year, and he was unable to lose weight before.

Before I found out that my troubles had only just begun I was an innocent and carefree 15 year old who thought that a cover drive which neatly bisected the fielders was the most exciting thing life had to offer.

Offer you some advice spendi I can. In this thread you must use two sentences!

(Here are kickycan's rules from page one: It's very simple. Just write two sentences, starting with the last word on the post above you. They don't have to relate to each other.)

Sentences do not always seem to fit the crime, some are too lenient, while others seem too harsh. Although they do need some flexibility, to fit the circumstances, perhaps the guidelines should be better standardized.

S is the initial letter of the word silly. I apologise for being so silly as to forget the two sentence rule.

Rule number one should always be to not bite off more than you can chew. More people should remember that, it's a useful guide to moderation.

Moderation is my watchword these days. Virtue almost always stems from necessity.
