"Least common denominator" in mathematics is the least common multiple of the denominators of a set of common fractions. Sometimes, though, we say that the media's cheap and crude tactics are meant to appeal to the "least common denominator" of their audience.

(Also, Mathos, I'm not sure I understand what you last post was saying...can you re-word and repeat?)

Audience participation used very crudely by the television companies in their bogus phone-in "competitions" shows that Mr Barnum was right. And who was it that said no-one ever lost money by under-estimating the intelligence of the public?

Nation of lunatics on the loose with placards, burning effigies and masks on their faces.

When we will they ever learn?

Learn from your mistakes. Because, as Shirley Bassey said, "it's all just a little bit of history repeating".

Repeating themselves from the first kiss to the last sigh, the average man's love affairs have history blushing with envy. I wonder if this goes for the women as well?

Well dressing, floral decoration of wells, is a practice carried on in the villages of Derbyshire around Easter time. It is supposed to have something to do with the Great Plague (c.1660) and Christianity (c. 0) but I bet it's not.

No first thing in the morning anyhow, I'd much prefer it late of an evening and then only in discretional volumes. What about yourself?

Yourself, your Honour, your very self that is, has left a word for the next poster which beggars belief. I will refrain from offering an explanation for your behaviour as it may well not show you in too advantageous a light.

Light can lift and light can bend and light can fill and stray. And til the darkness comes to stay, it will not go away.

Away with the fairies. That's quite an expression if you happen to sniff, isn't it?

It is too bad if you have a cold and that's why you're sniffing. Can I get you a tissue?

Tissue, that was a word we always associated with sneezing. Did dust accumulating in the nether regions cause you a particular problem?

Problem? I have no problems, only temporary inconveniences.

Inconveniences come and go, like the daily tides. It's rigidity you surely expect to last for hours.

Hours are only minutes multiplying and accumulating. Enjoy each and every one, is what I say.
