Again you show a retiring nature, but that is natural among people who spend a lot of time on the Internet as opposed to engaging with the 'real' world. Perhaps you also play 'Second Life' or 'RuneScape'.

Precious Lord, take my hand, so runs the old hymn and I must say also, much beloved of jazz pioneers in New Orleans and traditional jazz revivalist groups. You know, like a syncopated version of The Old Rugged Cross, which can be most effectively thusly rendered, on clarinet, banjo, bass and washboard.

washboard , yes i remember it well when the washerwoman came every other week to do the laundry . a big kettle would be boiling away with the wash ; the tub , washboard and wringer would be set up and sweet smelling fresh laundry would be the result !

Quote:
When I was at home I was merry and frisky,
My dad kept a pig and my mother sold whisky,
My uncle was rich, but never would by aisey
Till I was enlisted by Corporal Casey.
Och! rub a dub, row de dow, Corporal Casey,
My dear little Shelah, I thought would run crazy,
When I trudged away with tough Corporal Casey.

I marched from Kilkenny, and, as I was thinking
On Shelah, my heart in my bosom was sinking,
But soon I was forced to look fresh as a daisy,
For fear of a drubbing from Corporal Casey.
Och! rub a dub, row de dow, Corporal Casey!
The devil go with him, I ne'er could be lazy,
He struck my shirts so, ould Corporal Casey.

We went into battle, I took the blows fairly
That fell on my pate, but they bothered me rarely,
And who should the first be that dropped, why, and please ye,
It was my good friend, honest Corporal Casey.
Och! rub a dub, row de dow, Corporal Casey!
Thinks I you are quiet, and I shall be aisey,
So eight years I fought without Corporal Casey.

Result is the final consequence of a sequence of actions or events. There may be a range of possible outcomes associated with an event possibly depending on the point of view, historical distance or relevance.

Relevance is just about the last thing you'll find around here, you'll find. I saw a TV programme this evening which showed a man thatching a cottage with Norfolk reed and it might be a good deal more interesting to talk about that.

That is a subject I cannot talk about. We have no thatched houses downunder.

Accomodations were what Julie was wont to make. She had it figured that it was the best way forward.

Meantime in another part of town Fred poked the fire. He was trying to use the oxygen in the atmosphere to get warmer although he didn't know that.

That sounds highly illogical to me. Why didn't he round around to get warm?

Nightmares can be good therapy. After you wake up, your problems don't seem half as bad!

Bad sportsmanship by local soccer team deplored in finals loss. Their criticism of the referee left a sour taste in the mouth of many spectators.

Spectators see most of the game. The same may be true of life.

Life insurance is a funny thing. In Scotland, we used to have national institution called the "Society Man" who came round on Friday evenings to collect a small amount in contributions; I expect nowadays he would be mugged and robbed by drug addicts before he had completed his round.

Round here the drug addicts seem very peaceful, though they tend to beg. Perhaps they aren't on hard drugs, just cannabis.

Cannabis is the dried flowers of the female plant cannabis sativa which is native to India. The psychoactive compound is tetrahyrdrocannabinol (THC) and the male plants contain but small amounts and are thus only used for the fibre from which ropes and sacking are made.
