Pretty irises are blooming in the garden. Peonies will break through soon.

Soon it will be autumn again. I wonder whether, for us, it will be busy?

Wouldn't you say that, Midsummer coming up soon, it would be Summer now? Is the weather bad in Iowa at other times; or do you just want to savour Summer while it's here?

This is suspiciously like Can we talk? Going from BUSY

Busy people have the most efficient methods, they say. That probably accounts for the fact that I am inefficient.

Crazy people used to be a highly popular form of entertainment. Well, 'used to be' is slightly inaccurate.

Inaccurate posts about Lot and his wife should be corrected. Thank you dev, for putting me straight.

Straight jackets are quite constricting. I'm glad that they let me out of mine twice a day.

Day after day, she pined her heart away, yodel-odel-odelaydeeay, but no love came her way. From Little Swiss Maid, sung by Del Shannon.

Arms wide open; aren't you sweet? I would have been working for the Germanic department of the University of Michigan-- in Flint, I think.

Think you might've liked it. I hope you would've been on the main campus in Ann Arbor. It's much nicer there. There are a lot of factories in Flint - not as nice.

Try telling me to live somewhere industrial, and I'll defy. The fact that it was like that was why I never did go.

West is preferable to east in England, as it's warmer and hillier. On the other hand, east is preferable to west in Australia.
