awwwww! Very Happy
Edgar, I can relate to your story. It happened a number of times to me at my previous house. I think people thought I liked having this happen! Confused
Quiet a few became wonderful companions, but we had to take a few to cat shelters, too. People! Evil or Very Mad

When I lived in that house, people dumped dogs and cats there an average of two to four time per week. Many is the trip I made to the SPCA. It always broke my heart.

Wilso

If you decide to adopt this cat, & look after it properly, you will have a loyal friend for years. Very Happy Most of my cats were "adopted" (read DUMPED by other people) & all of then turned out to be delightul. It sounds soppy, I know, but they know you've rescued them & are very appreciative. It also makes you feel very good to have done such a good thing!

Good for you, Wilso!

I second (or third...whatever) the advice about taking all new kitties to the vet. We always do that. It's best to get it checked out before becoming too attached.

thanks, msolga.

wilso, if you decide to keep it, get it tested for leukemia too-- cats pass it on to one another like a cold. also, if it's a boy, tuna and milk are not good for him, gives then urinary problems.

I was home late tonight because I worked overtime. I was sitting watching TV, when suddenly there was a meow at the front door. Seems that someone wasn't happy that their dinner was late!

what colour?

how about a photo?

<well done for looking after him/her>

yes we've never chosen a cat but always they just arrived!

the cat may well wash itself clean when it is well fed. We took in a little kitten years ago that i thought was grey with ginger splotches - she was starving and had obviously been living rough. When she was fed and warm and washed herself she turned out to be a white cat with ginger splotches!

All the advice about the vet check up/worms etc is good.

Cats are extremely good for depression too - there's nothing like an adoring warm furry welcome home when you are down Very Happy

Wilso,

It sounds like you belong to a cat now. Please give at least a description and what sex it is. A little lady cat may mean that you will have to belong to several cats in the future.
