@chai2,
I appreciate all feedback. I like complements and I like suggestions and my skin is thick enough to take criticism. Though I have been doing this off and on for about four years I still consider myself an amateur with a lot to learn. Thanks to everyone for all the comments and feedback!

@chai2,
Hi Chai2,

I don't believe I have the talent, patience or interest to pursue a graphic novel. But, one never knows what the future will bring. As for my humor I get a wide range or responses from very funny to not funny at all. I just learn from trial and error, keep plugging on and accept the fact that humor is a challenge. But most of all I just love doing this. It's a great (and cheap) hobby.

. . . converting the art to monochrome pretty much takes all the color out.

I hadn't thought of that.

I could not care less if you've been published, or not. I do wish you success.

You're the last person I'd expect to get defensive here.

Sorry if I came across to you as defensive. I don't feel that way.

I had gotten the impression this was a totally warm and fuzzy thread, and nothing says medicore like everyone agreeing and telling someone, especially an artist or comic, how super double plus good they are.

I figured someone, i.e. the OP, might appreciate and think about some well intended, constructive critisism.

I see nothing to critique about his artwork. It's quite good. Hence a positive critique. However others choose to express their opinion is their choice.

Again, and yet one more time ragman, I did not critique his artwork. I don't think the humor is what it could be.

Yes, others can certainly express their opinion. I thought that went without saying.

@rcleary171,
I get that, I'm a painter. On the other hand, I started out drawing, etching, and all that and and have always liked a lot of black and white movies and photos.
But I get you not wanting to go there, especially since your color drawings are, uh, super.

So what if not all are side splitting funny. You have created a niche. Your work is clean and original. Definitely on par with Associated Press fare. Keep at it. I believe we all here are rooting for you.

@rcleary171,
Hey, did you know First Dog On The Moon has been used as a nom de plume by cartoonist Andrew Marlton for the best part of a decade?

Wondering if it's coincidence, meme, or homage.

@rcleary171,
This is just my need to tweak because I like your work. I would edit the last part of the last sentence thusly:"...I have 'til Monday to get off of her cloud."

The Birthday-Dead-fish one is way too long and misses the mark comedicly.
In general , with these cartoons, shorter and briefer is better in comedy.

And, once again, I never said that you did.

I never addressed you, thought about nor intended my comment about you. I certainly never saw you being critical of his art work, either.
