Abandoned circuit question

I've gone to gas so I have an unused electric oven circuit.
Can I replace the 30A two pole breaker for two 15a one poles and use the existing wiring?
Can I junction box off that circuit and run two 15acircuits?

As long as you do it properly, no technical reason you can't do that..
