Which of the following unorthodox (nonhorror) ghost stories is your favorite?

Topper (1937);
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947);
A Christmas Carol (1951);
My Neighbor Totoro (1988);
Always (1989);
Ghost (1990);
Six Feet Under (2001);
Dead Like Me (2003);
Volver (2006/I);
Ghost Town (2008);

Under construction: Don't publish until ready:

NOTE: Ghostbusters will not be considered. Technically, it's not a horror movie but it's still an orthodox style ghost story, albeit an original and very funny one.

Casper (1995) and its TV versions has too many traditional ghost story aspects, (characters outside of Casper himself who try and haunt the living).

Beeetlejuice (1988) has Beetlejuice. He's the reason why that film doesn't qualify.

@chai2,
Me too. I saw most of the TV series before the movie showed up on late night television.

@izzythepush,
I forgot Randall and Hopkirk.

Very cool series in its day, which was bang smack in the middle of the early Beatle frenzy. You can tell by the clothes and hairstyles.

@Lordyaswas,
The remake with Reeves and Mortimer was quite good too. Did you forget this one, or are you too old?

@izzythepush,
I never saw this one, but if it's Reeves and Mortimer, it should be worth a look-see.

(Answer therefore is probably too old)

@Lordyaswas,
Reeves and Mortimer did a remake of Randall and Hopkirk.

Rentaghost was a kid's show from the 70s.

I was also going to mention the excellent 'Marchlands' TV series, but then remembered it scared the bejeezus out of me and the missus.

Thanks Izzy. Interesting premise that seems to fit well in my poll suggestion. Added. Smile
