@bennattod,
Jettatura?
Therefore possibly ........jettison?
@Lordyaswas,
correct, title of gothic novel
@bennattod,
Regarding Question 31 I have a feeling this has come up before. If memory serves me correct the nickname is "Stalky". But cannot find a link on Google!
@bennattod,
Thanks bennattod, cracked it. Now for 31 + 9 & 25. Any hints to swop appreciated.
@Ramires7,
1940's film. Would welcome a hint for 14 and or 18.
@gumpy01,
Q14.The answer is in the question.
@gumpy01,
q18 she definitely liked Cheshire
@Opsimath,
Q14 All I get is football or trains when I google.
@gumpy01,
You have got it then.Just look at a certain fixture in the calendar and all will become apparent.Re. 31 any further ideas/hints?
@Opsimath,
Cheers Opsimath, penny dropped on no. 14. 25 & 31 still elusive. Not making much headway with the 'Cadfael' clue on 25. Perhaps I've got wrong lady first name for 37172, not many 5 letter female names with 2nd & 4th letter the same?
@Ramires7,
Derek Jacobi series` a `better clue for q 25
@bennattod,
Not getting anywhere with this 'well known series'
@gumpy01,
Your progress is somewhat stuttering then Gumpy.
@Opsimath,
For some reason best known to myself I was overlooking the obvious one! Not got both 'names' now. Just wonder what I'm overlooking for #14.
@Ramires7,
Played by Sian Philips if I remember correctly. Take out the letters of that character and put the rest into the anagram solver; it comes up with a name which is a character in a recent series. That works with the rest of the clue.
@gumpy01,
q25 For the first name try a soprano
@gardengnome,
Meant to type 'now' not 'not'. I do have BOTH names now.
Sorry, that wasn't very helpful, it was the wrong way round: Transpose the letters of that character into the long number, then put what you have into the one-look dictionary (sorry if that's teaching grandmother to suck eggs...) There aren't very many possibles in the list in produces. I then put the remaining letters into an anagram solver as a double-check.
