I am aware that multicollinearity can be problematic in linear multiple regression when two predictor variables have substantial overlap (high correlations and theoretical overlap). However, I am wondering if it is problematic if there is substantial overlap between a predictor and criterion variable. If so, is this also referred to as multicollinearity or is there another term for it?
Many thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my question!
