I'm still trying to figure it out (and I'm typing right now from the laptop, as that's faster). The idea is to be able to be mobile and write. The laptop is just plain too heavy; it's a production to lug it around. The tablet fits into a little book carrier I own - even with the new mouse (I got a flat one), the plug, and extra batteries for the mouse. It has a small keyboard and a few USB ports. It's a Microsoft Surface so it has Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, that sort of thing. I can't load iTunes or Chrome on it, though.
So there's a place for both the tablet and the laptop. I am also trying to get my basic preferred URLs over there and passwords so that I can do whatever from the road (including moderating).
