I was reading the magazine (Real Simple) and came across an advertisement for RL Paint.
Is it just me, or is this kinda ridiculous? Would you paythe dumb amount it would cost to buy that?
for me, it's sherwinwilliams or nothing. hmph
I just finished a remodel and the owner provided Martha Stewart paint from K-Mart. Surprisingly it was the best paint I have used in a while. My cynical side says it's S-W with a new label.
I'm not particularly impressed with brand names--partly because I recognize so few of them.
I am aware when price reflects quality.
Ralph Lauren Paint
Hey guys, I have to disagree I just re-painted my house and I used Ralph Lauren Paint it was great the color selection was awesome and the quality was top notch.
Check it out. you can pick your colors on line

Ralph Lauren Paints is AMAZING!
We just starting painting several rooms in our new home. We are using mostly Ralph Lauren paint, and some Behr paint, which is also rated very high. A dark burgundy in Ralph Lauren took 2 coats. A deep red in Behr took 5 coats. A dark tan in RL took only one coat, and a gold shade in RL took only 2. The quality of RL is amazing, the drying time super fast. Paying more upfront for RL actually saved us money, because we would have had to buy twice the amount of cans of another brand. We have vowed we will never again buy anything but RL.
can't home depot do the color match thing, so you can get any color you'd like? If they've been going strong for this long, I imagine there's SOMETHING good about their stuff.
RL is sold at Home Depot. The prices aren't bad - in fact, they're good for the quality. Behr is the HD house brand, not so good for the price, unless you're buying from the oops aisle. Some of the RL textured paints are interesting. Friends have used them in their house, and the effects (the suede finish, in particular) have been quite pleasing.
The RL has been at HD for at least 7 years.
