I cna't seem to get 169 down.

Sludge seems to work but that wont work with the interacting clue 149 down....aggravated.....which I have put NETTLED for.

Sludge is correct. Try NEEDLED for 149D.
Has anyone found the answer for Australian outback train (I think that was the clue but don't have the book with me).
Letters are G ? O A ???
