What's the most recent version of Microsoft's NT based operating system? I've had enough of XP.

If it's got the letters XP in it, I'm not interested. I'm looking at 95, 98, 2000-is there anything after that?

I use Win2k at work and at home, I think it's much better than XP. I had a choice of getting a WinXP system but I don't like it...

XP has caused me no end of problems. Crashes, lost data, devices not working-it did it again today when I tried to reinstall it. I'm definitely finished with it.

Wilson - Do you use Pro or Home?I haven't had any problems with XP Home.

Isn't XP sort of based on Win 2000?

Tom,

Yes it is.

Wilso, you do know your problems may not be XP's fault right? I know it;s ultimately the same result for you and what you care about is avoiding all the hassle but most users will have less hassle with XP than anything else, it's easily the best operating system Microsoft has ever made.

I'm running 98 now and it's smooth as silk, so it's not the machine (which is new).

98 was a good one. I would never have bothered with Me, but it came with my (then) new machine.

Maybe you just got unlucky.

My brother got ME with his machine a couple of years ago. It was so bad we took the package back to the shop and demanded they trade it for 98. They did.

I think it isn't XP or any other operating system, maybe sometimes it is the person in front of the PC. Rolling Eyes
