I recognize that; I'm just wondering if your father realizes that. And, BTW, tweens of both genders are awkward at your age. Cut these girls some slack; they could turn out to be truly wonderful in a year or two.

But if you have an elaborate plan and you never execute it, you'll get rejected 100% of the time. With my little script, you have a greater than 0% chance of acceptance. Right now, those are awesome kick-bun odds. And you are hardly in a position to be picky or cautious right now.

Think about the girls who never ever get asked, the ones who feel as nervous as you do about dating. They don't ever get the chance to reject anyone because they are rarely asked out.

I'll bet you can think of several like that from your math and science classes. Give them a chance, they'll likely say yes.

How old are you? I was about 16 when I finally decided my dad was full of krap and started ignoring him and he soon learnt to save his breath and we hardly spoke again for the rest of his life, great..Smile

- My kids went in groups to the lower grade "proms."

No one had a "date," they just all went.

Find another gal or fella with the same issue and announce that a group is welcome to come with you. Then invite a lot of kids.

Diffuse this "date" thing. Just go and have fun.
