Was Elliot Rodger's recent attack an attack on women?

My problem is that I started out liking buttermilk and still sort of do in an off kilter way. He got me going, though, near the beginning, for lancing me for mentioning my niece.

I'll tell a bit about her, though not much. She had a hella childhood, in part because of her mother but also in part re her father somehow getting mother to LA which must have been like landing in outer space for her. When he was at work, she went to porn theaters instead of typing school.
I see both sides on that.

Skipping many years, but still with niece at a fairly early age, even before later getting full custody for sadly good reasons, her father worked with her (or nattered) so she would grow up independent. He taught her to bicycle across the very large city. He taught her to camp and make do. She is now, in her twenties, a very able woman.

I was in the mix, as her mother, who had worked up a lie as suggested by a friend, I think to get away from her then husband's takes on how to live (there are many points on his side on this, even most points, but I can see her side) and then had all hell happen more than she wished (the key psychiatrist agreed with me, thanked me for calling him, but then went and died), the mother started to call me, since I went over and talked to her at the big court hearing (she got custody). Years went by with long sad stories and I wasn't the only woman who my niece was dear to in her mixed up life. One woman was and still is memorable to her for when she was in foster care. One of her father's girl friends liked/loved her too, but the next one strongly didn't.
Her mother died hard. She called me just before, from the hospital. She had long before apologized to me for the, uh, set up of dad, not quite in those words.

Anyway, my niece and I are part of each other's navigation in life, and we don't think of it as different sides.
So, when Buttermilk dismissed my mention I have a niece whose mother was in LA from Africa (or whatever I said), he took it as a white woman claiming points to be noticed.

He also dismissed that I know the city at all, having lived there 47 years. He knows it better, of course.

I could swear about those comments, and did argue, but at this point I'll let him alone to live his life.

edit - that was take buses across the large city, sorry. But she is also major good on a traversing land by bicycle.

to comment on the degree of a woman's sexual activity.
That is a private and personal matter; no one 's business.

A lot of us care about issues here.

Isn't the Internet World a strange place? A complete stranger can push a nerve that floods us back with memories and so, we pen and type away.

Or, a complete stranger desperately really wants to be heard, probably loved and so, goes on a rampage of self destruction UNTIL enough people seem to talk "with" them instead of down to them.

No one should ever make you feel that you need to explain yourself, OP I think has realised that he was out of line, we understand his past, like it or not and people "can" accept him regardless of what he thinks.

I think it's hardly ever appropriate, being unfaithful in a relationship and pointing out hypocrisy are the only exceptions I would make.

I don't know what his problem is. Unlike Nonono who slipped in comfortably as Hawkeye's lackey, he has had problems with both Hawkeye and BillRM. I think he's young and guilty of posting in haste and repenting at leisure. I don't think he's a lost cause though, not yet.

Btw, you've been talking about your niece and posting pictures of her for many years before Buttermilk joined.

Some people have suggested that Buttermilk only claimed to be black once he was called prejudiced, so what goes around comes around.

No it's not, but if a politician was preaching Christian morality and abstinence but was shagging everything that moved, it would be fair comment to point it out.

I seriously doubt firefly is a racist. She's probably been opposed to racism ever since she became aware of it as she was growing up.

I'm not "taking sides" here. I just hate to see all these hard feelings. You-all would probably understand each other in real life.

Of course I'm not a racist, and I've been opposed to any type of bigotry, any overgeneralized negative stereotyping of any group, my entire life. And I've been quite vocal about that at A2K for the past 10 years.

This is some personal issue of nononono's, some sort of weird obsession with me on his part, and some sort of need to keep attacking me in thread after thread. He says all sorts of absurd things about me that haven't gone a grain of truth in them. They are so far from the truth, and so ridiculous, they are almost funny.

It's sort of fascinating to witness his insulting rants at me. I don't take them seriously, this stuff is absurd.

I do understand him, that's why I'm not engaging with him and feeding his perverse need to get attention in this way. Eventually, hopefully, he'll just knock himself out trying to get attention by being obnoxious and find a better way to do it.
