Need help identifying artist - Gomez

I picked up a fairly large canvas painting (60"x40") at my local thrift store today and I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of or knows the artist.

It looks like an oil-based paint on canvas, and there is nothing on the back side; just that one signature in the corner GOMEZ

Its a palette-knife - painting. Ive seen works by a "Gomez" at yard sales and flea markets. (Probably a lot of Gomez ).
